Half conscious, Audrey swung lightly into Ryosei's arms. She could feel herself being moved; Soft touches and warmth. Her eyelids flitted for a few seconds, and opened.
Everything was a blur, yet, after blinking a few times she came to notice several things. Firstly; She was dripping wet. Secondly; Ryosei was taking her somewhere. And Thirdly, all feelings of pain or weakness had seemed to vanish. How curious She thought, ..I had better..
Audrey flailed a bit and clung to Ryosei in a clumsy attempt not to fall or be dropped. "S-sorry.. I mean.." Sh realised nothing had happened and they were still moving. "Uhm.. I'm alright now.. I'll be able to walk.." She blushed slightly, embarrassed to be seen so weak by Ryosei. The 'opposition'. She indicated towards the ground and smiled awkwardly.

Ryosei slowed down and smiled at her. "Well, if you're sure..."
Gently, he let Audrey back on her feet. He shivered slightly as the cold wind blew down the darkening street, and looked downwards at the wet stone path. He could sense the awkwardness of the situation, and reached up and scratched the back of his head.
He took a step back and brushed his blue fringe back so it stopped obscuring his vision.
"Do...do you have a place to go, nearby?" he asked, blurting out anything in the repetitious sound of rainfall.

Straightening her clothes out, Audrey noticed Ryosei's sudden movement to the cold. She unwrapped the coat from around her, folded it and handed it back to it's owner. "Thank you Ryosei.." She fixed her gaze upon his and continued. "For pretty much everything tonight... I.. I'm not much good at these kind of things, so you must forgvie me, but.." She paused. What was she going to say? You were quite the gallant? No. That sounded too.. ungrateful.
"..I owe you so much now; Thank you.." Audrey interlocked her hands and grinned bashfully.
"Nearby..?" She scanned her memory. "No. Not that I know of.. In this area that is. I'm alright though; I really don't need anything.." lied Audrey. She decided that she would make her way back to the ship and get Kaori or V to attend to it there. The only problem was that the ship was a good four hour walk from where they were.

"Glad I could help..." Ryosei said with that smile of his, blushing a little as he retrieved his coat. "I didn't actually do much...he would have beaten me if you hadn't gotten hold of your weapon." It was true, too. He was well on his way to being beaten tonight.
"As for the bandages...let's say I'm returning the favour," he continued, holding up his hand, bandaged from the crystal wound.
"Are you sure you're okay? That was a pretty quick recovery...in any case, I'm headed down this way until I can find an inn to stay at. If you're anxious to get away from me, by all means go the other direction," he said, not in a mocking or sarcastic tone of voice, but a friendly one.
"I'm still a little worried about you, though. If you haven't got anywhere in particular to go, I, um...think we should probably stick together...maybe...it's just you find a lot of drunkards and thieves and whatnot, and...well, I feel a little more confident battling things out with a fri...accomplice."
Ryosei scratched the back of his head again after his enormous bluff. The real reason he thought Audrey should stay was because he was worried she might keel over again and be left at the mercy of the street wanderers.

Nodding sullenly, Audrey pulled her own cloak around her tightly.
"It's nice to know we're on good terms once again.. but you're right. I might hang about you for a little while longer; Are you sure it's alright?" Her footsteps were heavy on the dirt track, clouds of dust puffing with each footfall.
"Speaking of which," She turned her head, her shoulders huddled "How is your cut? Does it still hurt?" Audrey guessed it still did, but Ryosei was probably too polite to say anything about it. She had purchaced more healing water from the little apothecary on the outskirts of The Edge - - Just in case. You never could be too careful in this place, as they had found out earlier.
Should've brought my daggers The voice in Audrey's head spoke spitefully, and she wondered if it would be worth going back and teaching that cretin a lesson.. Not worth my time or effort she thought in conclusion.
They passed a building with a sign hanging over the doorway. The Elephant and Wheelbarrow Tavern and Inn. Dodgy looking; most likely with a seedy owner who tried to scam as much from his patrons as possible.
"Well," Said Audrey cheerfully. "If last time is anything to go by, we should probably avoid this place.."

"No, not particlarly..." Ryosei said in relation to his hand as they walked. "It stings a little now and then, but otherwise it's pretty much unnoticable."
He looked at the tavern and inn, and it left a lot to be desired. "That's an...um...interesting name," he noted, blushing at Audrey's comment about avoiding inns. This time, they'd get seperate rooms.
"It isn't much to look at, but our choices are wearing kind of thin..." he started, before he felt a hand on his shoulder. Startled, he turned to see an unshaven human male, dressed in torn clothes and halfway through a joint of opium.
"Change, friend?" he croaked, not releasing his grip.
Sighing wearily, Ryosei reached into his pocket and handed the man 2 pieces of bronze. "Here..."
The man smiled a drowsy smile in thanks and staggered off down the street. The smell of opium started to bring back more memories, but Ryosei blanketed them out.
"Hmm...if we walk too much further, I'll be broke before the night is through..." Ryosei mused, a little uncomfortably.

"Well.. let's go in then.. I'll shout the rooms, seeing as though you pretty much did last time." Audrey stopped at tht doorway and pushed the screen open.
Creaking, it revealed a heavily clouded room. Yet another Opium Den. Yet again, illegal. Where do we FIND these places? Thought Audrey wearily. It's like they're beginning to overpopulate EO..
A bright-faced sprite spotted the two and pranced gleefully towards them. "G'deveeenin.. You want smoke, yes?" He pulled out two fresh pipes and a pot of the weed, waving them carelessly in their faces.
Audrey scrunched her nose up and hastily pushed the pot aside. "No thank you.. Not for me. Ryosei?" She faced her companion and prayed to mother that he wouldn't be stupid enough to accept.
The Sprite fixed his yellow stare on Ryosei and whined sadly, tears threatening to fall over his bottom eyelid. "Yess? You not be like rude lady and refuusssee?"

"Ahh...maybe later," Ryosei lied, and quickly changed the subject. "Right now what we're interested in is..."
Ryosei's nose scrunched up, the smell of opium smoke pounding at his heightened senses. Maybe they SHOULD have picked somewhere else. He couldn't tell from outside that the place was a smoker's haven, and he wouldn't have entered had he known.
"...a couple of rooms...what's the cost?" he finished, rummaging through his pockets.

The Sprite scrunched up his little face and large tears rolled down his face. "Rooms? okayyyy.. Two.. thirty gold bards.. each.."
Audrey's eyes widened in shock. She had had people try to scam from her many a time before.. but.. THIS MUCH? She grabbed the sprite by the shoulders and shook him. "I think you've had one joint too many my friend. That's ourtageous! I'd suggest you rethink your offer.."
Snivelling the Sprite grabbed Audrey's cloak and dabbed his eyes on it. After he had gotten a grasp on his emotions he whined pathetically. "I.. was.. *hup hup* just trying to earn a bit of money.. but.." He paused. "You gonna use your cutting thing if Gok doesn't give good price, yes?" He indicated at Audrey's katana, his lower lip trembling.
"okay.. fifteen gold bars total, yes?" He nodded at his offer, hoping that the woman would accept it without the use of her.. 'cutting thing'
"That's fine.." Audrey pulled out a leather pouch from her left boot and counted out the coins, including five extra for the Sprite's trouble. "Two rooms please.."
"Two?"
"Yes"
"Not one?"
"No. Not one. Two, please."
"You sure?"
"Yes, I'm sure."
"..but.."
"Quiet now. I've already paid."
The Sprite sighed and pointed to a small door leading out of the room. "First two on not right. Bathroom at hall's end, yes? Nave a nice night.." The Sprite, Gok, turned and pranced after a man who had just entered; jiggling opium under his nose.

Ryosei stood back, a slightly amused look on his face as he watched Audrey bully the little creature into lowering the unbelievable price. Little Gok was probably used to his patrons being smoked up beyond belief, offering little resistance to his scamming methods.
Ryosei looked around the room as the two argued, saddened by what he was seeing. What a waste...
Hearing the two settle on a price, he remained a little suspicious. He definitely didn't think this hole could have any room worth 7 and a half gold pieces. As another traveller entered the inn, the sprite dashed past him, knocking him to the side as he saw his chance to make some more money.
Ryosei sighed and opened the door that lead to the rooms. "First two on the not right?" he mused. "Here." He motioned towards two splintery doors on the left of the corridor.
He didn't for one second think about ever using the bathroom here, either. Chances are I'd never get out again, he thought to himself.

Audrey pushed the splintered door open. The room was dark and there didn't seem to be any lighting as she squinted, trying to make out any distinguishable figures.
She suddenly felt something tugging at her cloak, lightly at first. Spinning around, Audrey saw little Gok, starting intently at her with his large, rounded yellow eyes. Smiling at him, she placed a hand on his shoulder.
"I don't suppose you know how to light this place up, do you?"
"Light? Yes.." Gok clapped his bony hands together several times to a tune resembling some form of tribal drum beat.
At first, the light was shallow and dim, growing brighter with each clap. The ceilings glowed with thousands of burning butterflies, beating their etheral wings in a pathertic attempt to generate more flames.
The rooms were joined together by a silver door, matching with the gilded facade along the ceilings. The walls were muralled with scenes from ancient spritish legends.. great sea battles, and dazzling images of nobles, kings, queens and minstrals, actually danceing across the walls in joyous celebration. The minstrals sang gaily and pulled faces at Ryosei and Audrey as they stepped into their rooms.
Audrey's jaw dropped. How a place as shabby as this could turn out to be as amazing as a dream.. "This rivals anything I've ever seen before.." whispered Audrey in absolute awe, gently running her fingers around the fine silverwork on the door and poking the little minstrals (now mooning her).
"It's.. simply.. marvelous.. - - Thank you Gok.." she patted the little sprite on the head affectiontely, and ushered him out of the room.
"Well Ryosei.. What do you think of your room?" she said with a wink.

Ryosei had been awestruck as soon as Gok clapped his little hands. He walked into the room, mouth slightly agape, taking small steps as he spun to gaze at everything within the room.
This rivalled, perhaps even surpassed, the brilliant room he had spent the night in in Hain's Inn. He was stunned by everything, especially the flowing pictures on the walls.
"I think..." he started, in bewilderment. "I think we should have paid the full fare..."
Catching sight of a sneaky minstral pulling obscene gestures, he added, "...and I think the paintings should be better behaved."
Heading towards the silver door that led to his room, he opened it and clapped his hands, mimicking the sprite and making his room's splendour visible in the light. He brushed his wet damp blue fringe out of his eyes and removed his coat in the warmth of the room.
"Thank you for paying for the room..." he said, before turning back to face into Audrey's room. "Shall we say our goodbyes now, or am I likely to see you tomorrow?"

zenzetra walked in the door of the tavern, "whoa this place is packed!!!"
he sat down at the bar, "tender! i'll have some industrial, leave it in the canister please."
he turned to survey the crowd for people he knew...
he took sips from the tin canister of industrial alchohol and kept his eyes forward waiting for someone to speek.
reading there minds to see which was likely to strick up a conversation, "damn am i bored..." he exclaimed aloud...

Audrey winked at Ryosei, grinning from ear to ear at the living walls. "Methinks little Gok will be getting quite a substancial tip in the morning.." She turned her back to the room and closed the door behind her, watching the sprite scamper away to serve a new patron. "I'll most likely see you in the morning.. however as for now I'll be going to get a drink. Would you care to join me?"

zenzetra decided to take some dexterity and take someone's attention
he waslked out to the center of the room and tapped the first person he saw on the shoulder, "scuse me would you like to get a drink with me?"
he did this many times before and it seemed to work each time.
this time he turned to see exactly wo it washe was tapping...
