Aw, crap Oltri thought, trying to get free but failing miserably. It would be best to just yield, but her unmovable stubborness wouldn't let her. I should've chosen weapons, then I wouldn't be in this stupid mess. An idea came to her then. She wasn't allowed to use weapons, but magic wasn't neccesarily a weapon since it wasn't materialistic, she decided, concentrating for a spell. It was tough when you were being pinned down, but it was worth a shot.

Slither felt himself beginning to smirk, an expression very new and unusual to him. Finally, instead of being the scaly outcast, he was on top! He'd won! He looked around to share his triumph, but all he saw was a sea of angry, disapproving faces. "What? Whaddid I do?" he asked of them, not noticing Oltri's quiet incantations.

Oltri continued muttering in the same strange language before, until a small ball of faint light appeared and seemingly exploded, freeing her and stunning the lizardman. She got up quickly and warily looked at her opponent, ready for any sudden movements. She didn't feel that confident right now, as she had just cast whatever came into her head at that time, and wasn't sure what it actually was.I hope I didn't release another being of pure evil onto the world again like last time... she thought, remembering her somewhat bumpy training days.

The world was spinning. One moment, he had pinned Oltri and was having a gloat over his victory, and now he was on his back again watching the ceiling pinwheel before his eyes. There had been a light... so bright his retina's seemed scorched. What in the hell had happened? He tried to come to his feet but was numb from the waist down - he could barely move his toes, much less his knees. An immobility spell, he wondered? "... what... what in the world was that..." he called to Oltri, not knowing where she was, unable to raise his head, fearful of what spell she might cast next.

Luckily for her, she realized at the last second it wasn't another one of those evil spells she wasn't suppose to use. Carefully forming another ball of light, she went and stood over the lizardman. "Uh, well?"

Slither wanted to move, he had to move, but he simply couldn't. Every part of him screamed pain. He had never done this before, but there was a first time for everything... "I... I believe I have to admit defeat, then..." he panted. He had never thought of using magic in a weapon-less battle. Even through the pain he was forced to grin. Brain beats brawn. He slowly extended his arm up towards Oltri, and asked, "Could I have a hand up, then?"

"Are you gonna try and surprise attack me?" She asked in return.

"Uhhh... I'd like to..." said Slither with a forced grin, "but I think my head would fall off if I moved it too quickly."

"Ah, okay." She said, holding out a hand. "Didn't mean to do that, exactly."

Slither grabbed for the hand and pulled himself slowly to his feet. His earlier sinister anger seemed very foolish now that he had been well beaten. "Ah... I guess I should have been looking out for a magical attack. You learn a new thing every day..." He scanned around the mangled room, taking in all the destruction that the two had wreaked.

Oltri then realized what a mess of the place she had made while fighting. Smiling foolishly, she picked up her stuff and ran like hell out the door.

Slither stood weakly, looking at the carnage around him and the empty doorway through which Oltri had just fled. The patrons of the bar were not happy... So Slither fled out into the chilled night as fast as he could, and nursed his wounds... vowing to fight again another day...
