Ryosei grinned and began to find the whole thing rather amusing. The drunk's friends were egging him on and causing such a ruckus that Ryosei didn't believe they could see how pathetic the fight really was.
"Not so hard when they're drunk," he called to Kaori above the noise, as the man took one uncoordinated swipe after the other.

Kaori laughed at Ryosei's comment. She would make sure of that. After all, wasn't she wanting to stay out of trouble? With pure ease, she dodged all the man's attacked, and finally countered with a light punch to the face.

Ryosei had a hard time containing his laughter as the drunk stumbled backwards a little and then lost his balance, sending himself sprawling across the floor. The drunks egging him on had suddenly gone silent. "Nice. Any pain induced by your punch will be overshadowed by this guy's hangover tomorrow."
He walked over to the floored man, and, stepping on his dagger so he couldn't use it, lifted him up off the ground. "Up you get, buddy. Home for you." He then pushed the man into his crowd of friends where he once again fell over, this time taking some of his friends with him.

Kaori laughed. "That was quite amusing," she said, reassembling herself on her stool. "So...what were we talking about again?" she asked, in somewhat of a lighter mood.

"You know, I can't remember. Can't have been that important." Ryosei returned to his stool and to his drink, only to realise that he had almost finished it.
"Do you know when this tavern closes? It's getting late."

Kaori shrugged. "Last I heard it was an all-nighter," Kaori said. "But don't ask me, I usually pass out before they close or don't..." She let out a light laugh.

Ryosei grinned at the comment. "You're doing alright so far," he replied, nodding at the glasses in front of her. He called the bartender over and ordered another drink.

Kaori grinned. "Can you tell I do this often?" she said, also ordering another drink for herself. "So...what makes you come for a drink?"

"I was just in the area and feeling a little thirsty," came the reply. "I don't really drink this stuff often. You on the other hand seem pretty fond of it."
The bartender delivered Ryosei his drink. "It just...doesn't really appeal to me. Never has. I just don't want to turn into one of them." He gestured to the drunks who were scowling and starting to leave.

Kaori smiled. "Thanks for the compliment," she said, taking the drink from the bartender. "Yeah...usually I'll leave after I pass out on the floor, but I can recall everything I did...and I don't act so drunk and uncoordinated."

Ryosei scratched the back of his head. "I didn't mean you..."
After taking another sip, he continued. "You getting drunk enough to pass out on the floor seems like a pretty expensive idea. You don't seem the least bit tipsy yet."

"It is..." came Kaori's reply, shaking her head at her own antics. "But that's only on nights where I'm really lazy. Other than that, I can leave for the night." She took a sip of her drink.

Slither gazed down from the rafters warily. Wrapped in a dark cloak that almost certainly held a few spools a Magik in it, he waited silently above the drunken masses. None of those below had yet noticed him, with the exception of the bartender - and his pockets had been made heavy in return for allowing Slither to perch without interference. He had been waiting for hours now for his target. A small pouch of gold awaited him if a certain local ruffian did not return home alive. But no-one matching his description had turned up yet. Other, more interesting people had, though. Kaori was still sitting at the bar, talking to the elf that Slither knew all too well. Ryosei, the wooer of his own Captain, the elf that he was sure wanted him dead. He had decided to leave the elf alone for now... but only for now. V was at a table, dead to the world, and another member of the Corps had temporarily escaped his eye. The door to the tavern pushed slowley open, and Slither tensed for the hundreth time that night. Would it be his target?

"Nooo! Waiiiiit!! I left something in there! Honest! I'm legal, damnit!!" Oltri tried to struggle through the door while being dragged from it at the same time by one of the bouncers. The bouncer shook his head at her as if she were a child, and tried to pull her back outside again. "I'm 19! I just look young! Born 3001! Anyone who's an adult should know how to calculate numbers, right? What do I gotta do to prove it??" She thought for a moment, and shouted a long string of profanity that seemed to last forever. The bouncer let her go, convinced that someone underaged wouldn't have done that so easily, and for so long. "Lousy bouncers... why did they lock the back door??" She muttered before commencing to look for her lost item. "I should really get some needle and thread to stitch up that hole in my bag..." she sighed to herself.

V looked around at the pairs of drunken couples and sighed. Those fools She thought to herself as she sipped her drink. Why don't they understand that all their fantasies will have to end one day...
