Basics: A Tavern and Inn. Think something along the line of the one in "Yellowbeard" only more upper-class with oak and gilded paneling and such.. you get the idea. Upstairs are a series of rooms, while downstairs is a dancefloor central to dozens of solid tables. To the back is a counter. Here stands Hain the Innkeep.
Hain: tall, lanky gentleman with dark hair and pale skin. dum de duh.. well spoken etc..
..play on Ryosei.. ^^

Ryosei burst through the door, hair and clothes soaked through, laughing like a loon. He was still drunk; as he slid across the now wet floor, cheeks flushed, all judgement of dignity thrown out the window, he stumbled a humorous, uncoordinated little victory dance in the centre of the quiet hall.
"I won! I got here first!" He laughed at the open door, towards the pelting rain outside. He expected to see Audrey's figure run through the opening at any second now. Closing his eyes, he raised his arm to the air clenched as a fist and tilted his head to one side in an arrogant (but ridiculous-looking) sort of victory stance. "I reign supreme!" He called out victoriously, unaware of the innkeeper's presence and the weird impression he was giving off.

Audrey tumbled through the door giggling like a maniac. Why was it that everything seemed so funny in the middle of a rainy night? She paused for a second, watching Ryosei 'freeze-framing' in the centre of the reception area. She smirked and circled him a few times. "..do you have any idea how much you look like a Narwhale on some form of drug..?"
She walked toward the Reception desk and nodded at Hain. "G'devening dear friend.." She leant over and kissed both his cheeks warmly, to which he returned. "..Let me guess.. a room for two..?" Asked Hain with a wink and a cheeky grin. "..This is a first my dear Ana-Dreya.. I never thought you to be the type.." Audrey lowered her brow. "As far as I know, indeed, make it a room for two.. but with seperate beds.. not one.." "Ah.. a virtuous pair! I commend you!" "We do not need your commendation Hain.. only a good price.."
Hain grinned knowingly and fixed his gaze upon Ryosei, still posing ridiculously in the middle of his reception. "Well. What do you think Sir? After all, it is your room too." Audrey grimaced and pressed her back up to the wall, continuing to listen, though it displeased her. "..How does my best room sound.. It comes at a good price too.. Does twelve gold peices suit..?"

Ryosei snapped out of his pose and twirled around, facing the innkeeper and his friend. Brushing his long blue fringe to either side of his face, he approached the pale, lanky man still grinning.
"Ummm...yeah, seperate beds," he started, slowly, trying to remember what he had heard in the midst of his victory glow. "And um...the room sounds great. Just the type we were looking for. Spot on." he said awkwardly, agreeing with what he hadn't even heard. He tried his best to act sober. He fumbled in his drenched pocket and pulled out whatever was inside.
Damn, my vision's all blurry...hee hee hee... "Here. Thank you," he said, handing the innkeeper seven pieces of gold and a flat stone he had planned to skip when he was bored.

Audrey looked at Hain her lips pressed together as not to laugh. Where he got the notion that a rock would compensate for five gold peices she would never know. She shook her head and handed the Innkeeper another six gold peices from her pocket, the extra one compensating for his trouble. "..What did I tell you friend? You're too much of a dreamer."
Hain tottered off to prepare the room, leaving Audrey and Ryosei in the empty reception area.

Ryosei smiled at the gentleman as he walked past and out of the room. He stared at the door, which was left open, a mess of water littering the polished reception floor, dripping randomly until the centre, where a large puddle now resided. He looked over and over at these three points over and over, over and over...
Then it snapped.
"Awww...I just made a complete fool out of myself, didn't I?" He leant back on the reception counter and laughed freely. "I'll have to apologize to him..."
He focused again on Audrey. "So you've been friends with the innkeeper for a while, huh? He's a nice guy."

Audrey laughed merrily. "Aye, that you did gorgeous.." She said with a wink. She watched Hain's departing figure dissappear up the stairs. "Yes.. I knew his mother very well.. She died in childbirth so I aided his father in raising him... " Her eyes grew misty with past memories, and she turned her face away from Ryosei's, not wishing for him, or Hain for that matter, to see her in this state.

Ryosei could tell, even in his drunken state, by Audrey's reaction how tough these memories must have been. When she turned away, he looked at the floor, pondering exactly how he should react. He suddenly wished he wasn't drunk, so he could be of some help...
Raising his head again, he put his arm on Audrey's shoulder in a warm, comforting grip. "He must adore you very much. You must be like a mother to him."
He thought a little more. "Don't get sad...instead of thinking about how sad it must be for him to never have known his mother, think about how much you've given him and how well he's turned out. His mother would be so grateful." He gave her shoulder a friendly squeeze of reassurance.

Hain promply returned, overburdened with pillows. He peered over the top of them and smiled. "You room's ready.. I'll just give you these here pillows and leave you two alone." He winked and nodded towards the stairs. "It's room number six. the door's open.. I'll be right up"
Audrey made eye contact with Ryosei and stood up, fiegning a grin. "Thank you Hain.." she declared, her voice playful yet full of authority. She pulled Ryosei's hand off her shoulder and once again weaved her fingers through his, before making her way up the stairs.

Ryosei followed Audrey up the stairs, stumbling once or twice on a misjudged step. He noticed it was getting clearer, and both extremes of his emotions seemed to be getting shorter. As they reached the top, he followed Audrey (as she seemed to know where she was going, and because he was holding her hand) to room number 6. With one arm around his pillows, he followed Audrey through the door.
He was amazed at the sheer cleanliness of the room. He couldn't see a speck of dust anywhere and the two seperate beds were beautifully laid. He felt like he didn't even belong in such a place. The inn's he usually stayed at didn't even bother to clean up after each tenant. But what could he expect for silver piece rooms? He sat down on his bed, still in awe. "This is class..." he murmered, admiring the wrapped piece of chocolate he found at the top of his bed.
"I only wish I could live like this every night!" He flashed a grin at Audrey. "Now I'm doubly glad I met you."

Audrey sat down on the bed closest to the window. It had an ocean view. She looked out and saw darkness in the horizon, in the watery void. It was lonely, and cold, and Audrey was glad she was in good company in a good inn. She ran her hands over the crisp sheets and fell back effortlessly. Looking up at the plastered and muraled ceiling if the room she listened to Ryosei admiring the room.
"Now I'm doubly glad I met you." Audrey laughed softly. "What..? A bit shallow don't you think..?" She rolled over onto her stomach and looked Ryosei in the face. "..Not used to this kind of living, are you?.." She grinned. "..there's a first time for everything I guess"

"Sorry," grinned Ryosei. "I'm babbling. We'll blame the drink, shall we?" He laughed and stood up, surveying the brilliant room.
"This is great!" he said energetically, turning to Audrey, who was reclining on her bed. "I haven't stayed in a place like this since...well...I can't remember!" It was true...ever since he left the forest he had either stayed outside or in some shabby inn...whatever he could afford at the time. While Audrey may think he was overreacting, he actually was extremely thrilled. "You weren't joking when you said you could get me a room for a good price..."
Falling back onto his bed, he stared at the painted ceiling, the pictures jumping out at him. Of course, that could have just been because he was drunk...
"I wish I had a watch..." he yawned. It was pointless, but he just seemed to want to keep talking.

Audrey sat up and got off her bed and sat down on Ryosei's. She began to stroke his hair like a mother would. "Calm down a bit.. It's too late to be so excited" She smiled at him, her hand moving over his hair bleakly, without variation. "You see that picture up there..?" Audrey pointed to a motif on the ceiling. "..That's from the Elvish Creation.. Ainor and Meriike'.. surely you've heard that story before..?"
Audrey began to hum softly. A tune which accompanied the tale of Ainor and Meriike'.

Ryosei's grin faded into a content smile. It WAS late...so much had happened during the day, that he should have been snoring peacefully...yet he wasn't particularly tired. He could feel the affects of fatigue on his body, however, and Audrey's hand stroking his hair had a very calming effect indeed.
Ainor and Meriike' were two names Ryosei hadn't heard for a very, very long time. Not since back in the Forest of Flidhaais'...
"Sure, I remember..." he whispered to Audrey, who was humming the familiar tune. It was like a lullaby...Ryosei closed his eyes and listened in silence.

Audrey slowed her hand, lighteneing her touch until she drew her hand away. Ryosei's eyes were closed, and she was sure that he was asleep. She stood and leant over his crumpled body, gently touching her lips to his forehead. "I'll see thee when the sun wakes.. until then.. be at ease and let no evil stray into your mind.."
She moved towards her own bed, removed some of the heavier, wetter clothing and fell silently into slumber...
